It's lockdown day 32 and today was the weekly grocery day as well. Though I go to the supermarket almost every day because I can't carry large packets at the same time. My maximum ability is to carry 5 kg and I have to go through the long run because I have to walk carrying 5 kg packets.
So, today I have decided to taste some Ukrainian foods, I can't make Ukrainian food but I saw some frozen packets in the superstore which means half prepared and cooked food. I hope you know how frozen food works.
PS: I don't like Ukrainian foods because they are not spicy :D :D
Also, this lockdown situation made to depend on frozen foods more than raw/fresh foods. Basically, I used to buy fresh vegetables, raw meats but later I felt that the maximum foods especially vegetables rotten so quickly and usually I ended up throwing them into the garbage.
Today was a bright sunny day so I took some pictures on my way. Maximum people are wearing masks as the infected cases of CoronaVirus in Kharkiv reached 56. Nothing to do, we have to live like this I think.
Considering the lockdown situation, I prefer dry frozen foods, easy to make and can be preserved for a long time. Though we are not seeing any scarcity of food but we just can't go out every single day. Not safe for us.
This is the frozen food section, here all types of frozen food available including dry fishes as well. Today I have decided to taste some Ukrainian frozen dumplings, they are really easy to make. I mean frozen dumplings are already half prepared, you just need to put them into steam or you can boil them as well. In Russian they are known as Pilmenni, normal people like us call them dumplings.
If you know any specific name, let me know.
Also, frozen sea and river fishes are available here though I don't like these fishes. Basically, I don't know how to cook fishes plus I can't tolerate the fishy smell.
This is different types of sauce and mayonnaise section and my most favorite section. If you open my fridge, you will see my sauce collection, I have a huge collection of sauce and mayonnaise and I am kind of attracted towards them.
And as usual today I ended up buying various types of sauce. But today's special was this peri-peri sauce. This one is for taco so I bought peri peri chili for pasta one. Don't ask me what is written there, hard to pronounce for me.
I also bought special sauce for dumplings and tomato pesto for further cooking. I also added some gravy mix in my cart.
So today I have bought chicken and beef dumplings, sauces, mayonnaise, bananas, coffee and gravy mix for the next week. Total costs were almost 15$ and I won't say it's cheap according to Ukraine for 1 week.
Whatever this was my lockdown shopping/ #marketfriday... What about you??
