Hi guys, how are you all? I hope you are doing well and enjoying your lives.
I am also fine, but these days the weather in Pakistan is very dusty. Because of this dusty weather, I have developed a small allergy. My nose and eyes get irritated sometimes. Even then, I try to stay positive and do something useful in my free time. Today I have brought a very simple and useful tip for all of you. I hope you will like it.
This is something I learned from my nani (grandmother). She always teaches me simple and natural home tricks that save money and also help reuse old things. I really like her ideas, so I decided to share one of her tips with you today.
Today’s tip is about how you can give a new color to your old socks using only 2 simple ingredients. Sometimes we have old clothes or socks that look faded after washing many times. Instead of throwing them away, we can easily reuse them and make them look better again.
These socks in my example were actually new, but after washing them a few times in the washing machine, their color became dull and old-looking. That is why I decided to color them using this natural method.
Ingredients:
Tea leaves
Water
Yes, it is that simple. Only these two things are needed.
Method:
First of all, take all the socks and wash them properly. Make sure there is no dust, dirt, or soap left on them. This step is very important because clean socks absorb color better and evenly.
Now take a pot and add about 2 cups of water in it. Then add 1 teaspoon of tea leaves. Put it on the stove and let it boil properly. Slowly you will see that the water starts changing color and becomes brown like tea.
After boiling, strain the water carefully so that no tea leaves remain in it. This step is very important. If you do not strain it, the socks may get uneven color, with some parts dark and some parts light.
After straining, put the same water back into the pot and place it again on the stove. Now add all the socks into this tea-colored water.
Let them boil for about 5 minutes. You can gently stir them so that the color spreads evenly on all socks.
After 5 minutes, turn off the stove and take the socks out carefully. Now wash them once with cold water. Do not use hot water at this stage.
Then leave them to dry in the air. When they dry, you will see the result clearly.
When I first tried this method, I made a small mistake. I added too many tea leaves, around 6 teaspoons, and the socks became too dark. They still worked, but the color was much darker than I wanted. That is why I am sharing this tip with you so you do not repeat my mistake.
As you can see in my picture, the result still looked nice, but balance is very important.
I was really happy when I saw the final result. It felt good to reuse something instead of wasting it.
I hope you liked this simple tip. If you try it, let me know how it worked for you. Thank you so much for reading and supporting me.
