Ten years ago, I experienced watching Ice Skating so closely for the first time. It was when my nephew went to a training session organized by his school. He was excited as it was his second or third time going for ice skating I think, so, he got busy in preparing himself.
For me , ice skating and these types of activities and sports looks difficult and a bit risky. Maybe because I never experienced or seen them in person, just saw on TV or movies. So, I was a bit worried for my nephew but thatβs just me, it is normal there in Sweden and kids enjoy their time doing such activities.
My sister in law helped Saif to get ready for the day, it needs lots of protections on knees, elbows, helmet and much more. So, everything was there for him. The arena was in the stadium just behind our place. It was walking distance. We went there, it was crowded. All of his friends and class mates, their parents, teachers, everyone was there.
I was there to capture the moments and did the same. Taking pictures and recording video. It was looking great to see my nephew doing the hard work, learning ice skating plus enjoying the atmosphere. My views on it changed when I saw my nephew having fun on that ice. It is not that scary as it looked on TV but yea, it is not that easy too.
Teacher/trainer was very nice, guiding kids for some basic technics and rules to be followed. I saw almost every kid fall down once or twice but immediately got up and carried on with the chain. Looking at those smiley faces of kids, I was really enjoying my time there.
Saif did really well and he was so relaxed. He is so funny, trying to walk on that ice and every now and then, coming to me and saying some silly things. I hope he remembers those moments of fun.
These types of activities are very important especially for kids. I liked ice skating but still didnβt tried myself doing so heheheh however, I changed my thought and views on it. Cheers!!!
