FERIA DE LAS FLORES EN MEDALLO
🍁🌷💐
HELLO FRIENDS OF HIVE, TODAY I WILL TALK ABOUT A SUPER IMPORTANT EVENT FOR THE CITY OF MEDELLIN AND IT IS THE FLOWER FAIR.
The first Flower Fair was held in Medellín on May 1, 1957, as it was the month assigned to flowers, under the initiative of Arturo Uribe, a member of the Board of the Office of Promotion and Tourism at that time. It lasted five days and was somewhat incipient because it lacked the brightness of the current one. However, with booths in various parts of the city and private parties in social clubs, the people of Antioquia enjoyed the magic of flowers.
The program of that time included a flower exhibition in the Atrium of the Metropolitan Cathedral, organized by the Garden Club of Medellín and Monsignor Tulio Botero. In addition, the Silleteros Parade began, with the participation of 40 peasants from the Santa Elena district, who gathered in Bolivar Park.
With the passing of time, the Fair has become one of the most important celebrations in Colombia and one of the most prestigious abroad. This activity, which was initially held in May, was celebrated from 1958 in August, the month of Antioquian independence and since then has not ceased to dress, with a variety of colors, the streets of the city.
In addition, other events have been incorporated that have given it prominence as the cavalcade, Guinness Record in 1996 and 1999, the Parade of classic and antique cars, the Exhibition of Orchids, birds and flowers and the boards.

It is incredible to see the beauty of such a parade, a culture in which are integrated elders, children, youth, adults in fact anyone who wants to. The same reveals to Medellin that everything blooms as well as their own city, I will leave some pictures so you can see how beautiful it is and the best thing is that the date is approaching, what are you waiting to attend?
