HOLA AMIGOS DE HIVE, HOY LES HABLARE DE UN EVENTO SUPER IMPORTANTE PARA LA CIUDAD DE MEDELLIN Y ES LA FERIA DE LAS FLORES. La primera Feria de las Flores que se realizó en Medellín fue el 1 de mayo de 1957, por ser el mes asignado a las flores, bajo la iniciativa del ilustre antioqueño Arturo Uribe, miembro por aquella época de la Junta de la Oficina de Fomento y Turismo. Ésta duró cinco días y fue algo incipiente porque careció del brillo de la actual. Sin embargo, con casetas en varios sitios de la ciudad y con fiestas privadas en los clubes sociales, los antioqueños disfrutaron de la magia de las flores. En la programación de aquel entonces se incluyó una exposición de flores en el Atrio de la Catedral Metropolitana, organizada por el Club de Jardinería de Medellín y Monseñor Tulio Botero. Además, se dio inicio al Desfile de Silleteros, con la participación de 40 campesinos del corregimiento de Santa Elena, que se agruparon en el Parque Bolívar. Con el paso del tiempo, la Feria ha tomado fuerza convirtiéndose en uno de los festejos más importantes de Colombia y de mucho prestigio en el exterior. Esta actividad, que inicialmente se celebró en mayo, se festejó a partir de 1958 en agosto, mes de la independencia antioqueña y desde entonces no ha dejado de vestir, con variedad de colores, las calles de la ciudad. Además se han incorporado otros eventos que le han dado protagonismo como La cabalgata, Guinness Récord en 1996 y 1999, el Desfile de autos clásicos y antiguos, la Exposición de Orquídeas, pájaros y flores y los tablados.

Es increíble ver lo hermoso de tal desfile, una cultura en la que están integrados ancianos, niños, jóvenes, adultos de hecho el que quiera .
