Good day, my beloved Hivers. Today, I want to share something very close to my heart. As I mentioned in my introductory blog, I am a father of four, with three daughters and one son. Each of them has a unique personality, their own strengths, and their own dreams. So for this entry, allow me to introduce you to my children, the four blessings who continue to inspire me every single day.
Micah (The Eldest) — The Patient and Hardworking
Among my three daughters, my eldest is the most introverted. As the eldest, she knows how to guide her younger siblings with respect and care. She is a first-year college student and was crowned CTU’s Buwan ng Wika Queen. As a father, nothing makes me more proud than seeing my children enjoy their lives as students.
Academically, she is the role model of her school. She focuses on her studies and does her best to make her teachers proud. At home, she is also the best sister, a very understanding, patient, and hardworking woman. Her siblings look up to her as their role model in life.
She loves crafting things out of recyclable materials, whether it be flowers, boxes, or other creations. My beloved wife and I do our best to provide what she needs to support her passion.
My eldest is also different from her siblings when it comes to expressing emotions. She doesn’t want them to see her vulnerable side, so she usually opens up to us in private.
Ruffa (The Second) — The Logical and Wide Reader (Bookworm)
Among all my children, she is the most logical. She always debates possibilities and thinks rationally. She loves reading books and spends most of her time doing so. She is also a writer... here on this platform, she is known as . If you read her blogs, you’ll get to know her more deeply.
She is also a public speaker and often speaks in front of large crowds, which I truly admire. She loves writing stories and motivational pieces, and she even plans to publish her own book someday. She also plays the piano and has made it part of her routine.
Among her siblings, she is the most straightforward and frank. She dislikes hypocrisy, but she always remains respectful. She loves writing on this platform because she feels she has found a community that inspires her writing journey. She always tells her mother and me that someday, she hopes to reach more people and inspire them too.
When she faces problems, she handles them calmly and opens up to us respectfully. She has never disappointed us. She also loves studying law because becoming a lawyer is her first choice for college. Currently, she is a Grade 12 student, and once she graduates, she will enroll in the same university as her sister.
Joannah (The Third) — The Songbird and Artistic
She is the most artistic among her siblings. She has won many awards in poster and painting contests. She loves painting realistic sceneries because she believes they make her artwork more meaningful.
She also loves singing, and she inherited my passion for it. When I was young, I was known for having a good voice and often sang in front of large crowds, even joining various contests. Now, my third daughter follows the same path... competing and winning many prizes for her angelic voice. And that is something I am very proud of.
She loves science and math and does her best to achieve her dreams. Among her siblings, she is the most energetic one, with a high social battery. She’s the joker and the yapper of the family. Currently, she is a Grade 11 student.
Unlike her sisters, she doesn’t like taking pictures of herself. She prefers to just be herself. She also loves watching anime. I allow them to watch what they want as long as it isn’t against our standards and God’s will and I trust that they will never break that trust.
Jared (The Youngest) — The Sporty
He is the only boy among the siblings. He loves playing table tennis. I am a table tennis and chess trainer, and I taught him the techniques. Because of this, he has won many prizes in table tennis competitions.
He also loves robotics and has joined various robotics contests, winning many medals. I am so proud of him. I never expected him to achieve such things and he simply pursued them out of his own will.
Among his siblings, he is the most introverted, more introverted even than my eldest. He doesn’t talk much, but when he faces a problem, he opens up to us privately. Growing up surrounded by girls has taught him to respect women deeply.
I also train him to do heavy chores. I make him my assistant when repairing things and teach him how to properly use tools such as grinders, saws, pliers, and more.
As a parent, I am beyond grateful for my children. I never ask for anything more from them. All I want is for them to do what makes them happy, as long as it is not against our family rules and God’s will. And yet, they have already done more than I could ever ask for.
Children teach us to become flexible in parenting because no two children have the exact same personality. They face challenges, frustrations, and situations differently and that is what makes every human being unique and special.
And I guess I’ve said enough for now. That will be all for this blog. Thank you for reading.
