We've heard so much about Vietnam as a perfect holiday destination. So when we scheduled our first trip abroad, my wife and I are unanimous in selecting the country as our destination. Plus, Vietnam is also famous as being a budget-friendly country and we were looking for an affordable vacation so we had to go there. The first leg of our Vietnam tour began in Halong Bay, considered a World Heritage Site and one if not the most popular destination of Vietnam, and it did not disappoint!
The calm water is perfect for the boat ride and our ferry offered us a view of the entire bay! If you plan to come here, we suggest you bring sunscreen since there may not a cloud cover when you go visit and the sun will beat down on you.
At first, the rock formations seem small but as you come closer, each one of them is colossal in size!
Halong Bay also offers canoeing and guided boat rides. The launching site is nestled between magnificent limestone peaks.
Our boat guide led us to a small cave entrance that leads to a hidden inlet surrounded by more towering limestone mountains.
Overall, we've enjoyed Halong Bay so much! Photographs are not to capture its true beauty so you need to be there and see its magnificence.
