A Very Proud Moment For The Pakistani Community In Sweden
This is a very proud moment for the Pakistani community in Sweden. President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi awarded the 'Medal of Excellence & Pride of Pakistan' to Dr. Arif Kisana, who has been serving Pakistan and the diaspora for many years.
In an address to a ceremony honoring the invaluable contributions of overseas Pakistanis, the president stated that Pakistan desperately needed educated, trained, refined, and highly productive human resources, which were a fundamentally necessary element for the country's progress and prosperity.
He recognized the valuable contributions of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening the country's economic and financial outlook by sending large remittances to Pakistan.
He claimed that there were approximately 10 million Pakistanis living abroad, all of whom served as ambassadors for Pakistan. He asked them to send remittances through formal banking channels so that their hard-earned money could be used for the country's progress and development.
Dawood Ghaznavi, Chairman of the Welfare Society for Overseas Pakistanis Rights, Dr. Amjad Saqib, Chairman of the Akhuwat Foundation, a large number of prominent overseas Pakistanis, and others attended the ceremony.
Dawood Ghaznavi, Chairman of the Welfare Society for Overseas Pakistanis Rights, stated that this was the first time in Pakistan's history that they were celebrating the successes of overseas Pakistanis and recognizing their invaluable contribution.
Later, the president presented awards to overseas Pakistanis who had made a name for themselves in various fields abroad.
Brief Intro about Dr. Arif Mahmud Kisana
Arif Mahmud Kisana has lived in Stockholm, Sweden, since 1995, and works at the world-renowned Medical University Karolinska Institute. His profession is medical research, his devotion is writing, and his passion is teaching the Holy Quran. He is an author, writer, journalist, social worker, columnist, and blogger. He founded the Stockholm Study Circle in 2007 and has since been holding regular monthly sessions where contemporary issues of the day are addressed using the teachings of the Holy Quran.
His second book for children addresses the questions that young minds have about Islam very effectively. The stories are short and engaging enough for both children and adults.
"A Collection of Delightful Stories for Children 1: (Based on Islamic Thought)" was his first book for children. That book became so popular that it was translated into every major language. His two books represent a novel approach to teaching children about Islamic history and religious education. It is hoped that whoever reads these books will not only benefit from the information contained within them, but will also enjoy the reading experience.
It is also an honor for me because I translated it into Hindi. When I started reading the book, I realized that it is not only for children, but it is also an excellent gift for parents.
Whether it's for Namal University, Shaukat Khanum, or Scoon, a Norwegian organisation that provides wheelchairs for disabled children, Dr. Arif Mahmood Kisana has played an important role in introducing prominent Pakistani organisations involved in the promotion of education, welfare, and service to the poor to the people of Sweden.
In 2018, Dr. Arif Kisana started the Swedish chapter of Akhuwat by registering Pakistan's world-renowned welfare organisation Akhuwat Foundation in Sweden.
This was a very proud moment for the Pakistani community in Sweden and Dr. Kisana was highly appreciated for his efforts.
The community has now started to work on various projects with Akhuwat Sweden and is looking forward to expanding its reach in Sweden.
