Few years ago, A female friend called me a "Nerd" , that was my first time hearing that word, I smiled over it and decided to go check it up. Today, am writing about the character "nerd" in reply to the contest by ,To join, follow the link contest link
Who is a Nerd
Nerd means a socially awkward and an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with non-social hobby or pursuit. Funny that defines my kind of person.
Nerdy people are known to be extremely intelligent in any academic area to which they paid attention while ignoring the trivial social scene. Despite being cool, they definitely achieve a trendier and more complementary status.
Often nerdy people spend due amounts of time on non-mainstream activities, which are generally either highly technical , relating to science fiction etc. Many so called nerds are described as being shy or unattractive.

Because of the nerd stereotype, many smart people are often thought of as nerdy. It was once thought that intellectuals were nerdy because they were envied. The correlation of being intellectual and the fact that nerdy people are neither loved or despised makes smart people to be regarded as nerdy. Paul Graham once said "The reason why many smart kids are unpopular is that they don't have time for the activities required for popularity". Nerdy people are believed to be stereotypical of the appearance which often lampoon in caricature, which could comprise of a very large glasses , pants wore high at the waist and is usually symbolic with the emotion icon ,🤓 . In the media many nerds are makes portrayed as physically unfit or skinny.
Needs are seen in all races and colors against the idea that it was mainly for the white.
Nerds against other Youths
So sad that nerdy people are often the target of bullying due to a range of reasons that include physical appearance and social background; sometimes it's believe to be their indifference to popularity of social context in the face of the youth culture that view popularity as paramount.
Pride of Nerdy people
The rise of the technological (computer) industry at large has allowed many called nerdy people to accumulate large fortunes and influence media culture. Some measures of nerdiness are now allegedly considered desirable, as to some, it suggest a person who is intelligent, respectful and able to earn huge salary. MIT professor Gerald Sussman seeked to instill pride in nerds when he said:
My idea is to present an image to children that it is good to be intellectual and not to care about the peer pressure to be anti-intellectual. I want every child to turn into a nerd-where that means someone who prefers studying and learning to competing for social dominance, which can unfortunately cause the downward spiral into social rejection.
Charles J. Sykes also quote "Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one"

Most interestingly, Freakazoid gave speech about Nerds where he said "Most nerds are shy , ordinary looking type with no interest in physical activity. But what they lack in physical prowess, they make up in brains".
For generations, Nerds have made great accomplishment and all known to have been the best in book writing, top grossing movies, designs in computer programs that are so complex that only they can use. Permit me to end on this note "Without nerds to lead the way, governments of the world will stumble, they'll be forced to seek guidance from good looking but vapid airheads". -- Am proudly nerd
