I went by the river yesterday.
The water has changed from last week's turquoise blue...
... to olive green.
I wonder what is the true color of the Sacramento River .
I love the water and growing up I enjoyed drawing and painting the ocean and river waters blue, like many kids would do.
Here's what a read about What Makes A River Different Colors>.
When it comes to pure water, blue light is reflected while other colors of light, especially reds, are absorbed. When looking at the color of water, it is important to note the difference between the apparent color and true color of a body of water. The apparent color is the color of the water when looking at it without removing any suspended and dissolved particles. True color is the color of the water after the suspended particles have been removed. Suspended particles are things such as algae, sediments, or small particles of a mineral.
I will not pretend to much know about river waters, but
I certainly love the ocean and
gazing out at the water,
and swimming on water. And if I was not confined to my home,
I'd be in the pool swimming!
