Hello hivers, an happy Sunday to you all! I hope you are spending a nice relaxing weekend!
Yesterday, in the afternoon, me and my hubby went to the public library in my city. The library is on a very very large building and it's a sort of focus point for the citizen not just because the books there are there, but also because it's a place where almost every day there is interesting event like book signing, art exhibitions, events for childrens and many many activities. On the Saturday the local group of chess players use to meet them there and maybe you remember my hubby loves to play chess, so you can understand why we went there. 😁
I'm a very bad chess player and so, when we went there, I love to spend my time reading or watching the art exhibition there.
Yesterday there was an interesting exhibition not just of artworks, but also about books, everything on a very special theme: the "Pataphysics"!
Have you ever heard about the pataphysics (just to know, it's a french word)? If not, don't worry, I know it just because my hubby is a fan of it since many many years! 😁
It0s not simple for me to explain what it is, but wikipedia say:
'Pataphysics is a sardonic "philosophy of science" invented by French writer Alfred Jarry (1873–1907) intended to be a parody of science. Difficult to be simply defined or pinned down, it has been described as the "science of imaginary solutions". (source).
This kind of literature and art, even if it looks very serious, it's also very funny, because it's a way to improve the imagination "playing" with words and/or images. I know some people who wrote novels or poems following this kind of theme and it's very exhiting to listen them to read their works.
There are some group about it in different countries, starting from the French where many famous writers were fan of it, but also here in Italy.
I took some pics, but all the things were inside the glasses and so the pics are not so good cause the reflections on the glass, sorry.
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
