Our existence is threatened by this virus. It is the first time in my life that i will experience such a hard time. A total lockdown from the most busiest places in the world.
This is a global problem and somehow we need to ask some questions.
I believe if we all as nations have given this virus the kind of attention we are given it now, we would have reduced the number of cases we have now.
There are many rumors on why it was initially taking as not a serious case because as a plague, it disturbs only one nation.
But soon, it spread from one country to another and soon it got the attention it needed and consequently branded pandemic.
The world now live in fear. Husband is scared of wife possibly being a carrier and vice versa.
Number of new cases daily is alarming. The number of high profile people having it makes it more scarier than it was three weeks ago.
Each day you come online, you are greeted with news about new cases of covid-19.
Two days ago , Nigeria had 12 cases reported. Yesterday, it jumped to 22 with 10 new cases. Today, three new cases reported making it 25. Only God knows what the number will be before evening and tomorrow.
This is a real threat to our existence. It makes us doubt if anything is certain. It brings this fear that 'we might be next'.
I hope there is something like a glass that we can use to see everyone so as to know who has it and who does not.
The equipment used in confirming carriers of this virus need to be made available to masses. That way we can check ourselves, family or anybody to be sure that we are on a safer side.
While we hope for a vaccine soon, we need to follow all the instructions given to us by WHO on proper hygiene.
A good hand wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. And please, if you have cough or you are sneezing, please stay at home. Help us all to live.
This is a threat to our existence and we have responsibility to be responsible to ourselves and then extend it to the people around.
