I have always believed that setting and achieving goals is a continuous process. However, as my first task of the newbies initiative program for month of May I had set myself a few goals. I have achieved most, others are on the verge of being reached.
This image below shows my position on May 14 and beside it the next image shows my current status at the moment of writing this post.
Let me go into the details of the goals I had set for myself then to show if I have reached or surpassed my goals.
Where am I now?
I have published 42 posts many of which has been curated by various communities and rewarded by them. I have also won several competitions along the way.
My average votes per posts is at 87 while I have written 311 comments as of writing this post. All goals in this area have been reached or surpassed.
In terms of gaining followers I lag behind by a good ten followers which I hope to reach at the earliest. I had also pegged my sight at level sixty and I am very close to it at the moment.
In terms of HP and earnings I have made this was my position 15 days ago
My Goals on May 14
Right now I have 5.118 HP (225.225 HP) I would like to see it move up to 300 HP by the end of the month. That would mean a lot of work and I am prepared to do it.
My current status as on May 31
I had wanted to get 50 HP of my own which I mistakenly typed as 300 HP by taking the delegated HP numbers. Even if that was the case right now I have 350 HP in the way of generous delegation from
and @kenechukwu97which helped me reach and surpass my goals. Right now I have 118 Hp of my own which I believe is considerable progress in 16 days.
I also plan to convert the 65 HIVE that I have to HP on the first of June, hopefully this would boost my growth beyond my set goals.
A good number of my posts have touched $20 in earnings, this post The Mad World of Dieting fetched me 250+ votes and $27.40 and two other posts fetched me 400 plus votes. However, I think my best post is when I write from my heart and enjoy every moment of writing and sharing it immaterial of whether it did well or not.
Winning competitions has helped me a lot and my posts being spotted and curated has got me a bit more attention than I expected.
My take from this journey so far
Consistently writing quality posts and following the rules of the communities help greatly. This is something that has helped me greatly during this period of 16 days.
Commenting and interacting with others on my blogs and members of the communities where I post often has also helped a great deal.
I found that writing more than 2 posts a day actually works against you.
My recommendations for the team
My recommendations for the team is two fold
The efforts put in the new-bie initiative is commendable and is highly appreciated.
A couple of clear tutorials right at the start could have helped us newbies a wee bit more. Some of the resource link provided were excellent and helped me greatly.
However, I felt a bit more interaction on the Smile server as a part of the initiative could have helped newbies more. Perhaps it was because the conversation there was mostly Spanish I felt this way, I am not sure. I did feel lost there so I just did what I love doing and that was to write 2 or sometimes 3 posts per day.
Another area where I felt the team could help newbies better is by commenting on their posts. Yes, big votes from whales help motivate but that could give newbies a false sense of achievement. Comments, suggestions and feedback on the channel or on the posts would help greatly.
Perhaps when people venture out on their own they may not find the same kind of support forth coming and may want to give up. Just my honest opinion I may be wrong and completely off the mark here.
Personally, I have benefited a lot from this initiative, I would like to thank and his team for all the help. I also thank
for his huge support in this initiative.
While it is sad that we have to part ways here, I guess all good things have to come to an end. I hope to make this whole new journey at Hive a pleasant one for me and the friends I make here.
Thanks once again.
