A few days ago, I came across this onion, one I had completely forgotten about.
I bought a bunch of onions on my way back from the market, used some and left this one behind somewhere in a corner. Weeks later, while rearranging things, I found it again and to my surprise, it had started sprouting
No water.
No soil.
No care.
Just time, darkness and neglect.
Yet, somehow, it found a way to grow. I stood there holding it in my hand, amazed.
The onion didn’t wait for perfect conditions.
It didn’t complain about being forgotten.
It simply did what it was created to do and that is to grow.
And that got me thinking, sometimes, life forgets us in corners too, plans don’t go as expected, people overlook us and opportunities seem gone but even in those hidden seasons, something within us can still sprout quietly, persistently, beautifully.
Then the onion reminded me that growth isn’t always loud or convenient.
It can happen in forgotten places, under pressure, or in silence.
So, here is to everyone in their forgotten season.
You are not dead, you are just growing in ways the world can’t yet see.
I will love us to actively engage on this:
Have you ever experienced growth or breakthrough in a season where you least expected it?
