Marathon runners are tracked using rfid tags these days to prevent cheating. I often wonder what type of individual would do such a thing.
Cheating seems to be inherent in the dna of certain individuals. This is much harder to do in the age of the smartphone with cameras being embedded in most devices throughout a city.
The photos of the day in question were assembled and the competitor was caught cutting a portion of the race. I can only imagine those honest athletes putting in the hard work and being cheated out of their spot in qualifying races by people like this and most will never know it occurred.
