Hi Hivers,
I hope you're all doing well and having a great weekend in your various places. It's another beautiful day and have been busy all throughout trying to sort things out at my birds cage.
Two of my hen has been on incubation period for some time now including my female turkey bird which started it's incubation period some days ago.
My old hen which happens to be the first to started lay eggs some weeks ago started hatching eggs since yesterday. The birds lay ten eggs and hatched nine eggs which means I just welcome cute nine chicks to my yard.
I have been busy trying to create space to move the hen with the nine chicks to, since all my cage are occupied. I came up with the idea of dividing my big cage in to two and that's really takes me a lot of time.
The cage look so dirty when I got their and I have to clean it up. Then I used small part of canopy which I have kept for a while to divide the cage with small plank and tools such as nails, hammer and shaw.
I have to fumigate the cage to prevent the new chicks from being affected by the lice or any sort of insects and after some minutes, I make sure to spread sawdust on the surface of the cage and arrange the drinker with the feed. But before I put the feed in to the cage, I have to to remove the big particles by sieving to make sure that the chicks can conveniently pick up the feed.
Then when am done with the setting up of the cage, I have to move the hen with the nine chicks from one corner of my yard where it lay eggs and hatched it to the cage. I am very happy to get the job done successfully and the birds are looking comfortable in the cage and my mind will be at peace since I know that they will be safe in the cage against the hawk and other dangerous creatures. I am happy once again to welcome new nine cute chicks in to my yard and I will be looking forward to my other hen which is also on incubation period including the female turkey birds to have a successful hatching.
Thanks for visiting my blog and have a wonderful day
