The society in which we live in, is something we should all be concerned about.
Today's experience wasn't a funny one to me, because all that keeps coming to my head was how can our society be better for the sake of our teenagers.
š
I wasn't able to be very productive the way I planned it to be today. First, I woke up feeling nauseatic and also my ability to hear what another person is saying, while am talking to someone else didn't help at all.
š
Teenage girls clustered around my house today, discussing things that were not okay to me.
All there conversation was revolving around, finding the boy that would finally take them out to some place that I don't see any reasonable needs of going there.
Having this mindset that, they get to enjoy life through a guy by him spending on them.
Only a guy can take them to places, and all I could think is why can't you work for it yourself, rather than waiting for some random guy before you get to experience the pleasure of the world.
Further more, conversations on how they were been dumb, ignorant, telling incidents of them been disrespectful, thinking it is maturity.
The guys on the other hand telling them how they have been arrested and detained in the cell like it was some achievement.
No conversation about career, life, future and the rest were been talked about.

This reminds me how I wanted cultivating the habit of reading to them not because I enjoy it so they should, rather I want them not to be some random ordinary girl, but they felt it was a waste of their time and why should they read š¤·š¾.
It reminds of how I want their perspective towards life and the way they think to change, with me knowing they can do better than the way they choose to live.
Most importantly, how I tried to get them by giving them reasons to read this book in particular Dear Ijeawele by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche but still, it all goes down to I can't sit down to read "I no get work wey I go dey read".
My younger sister is currently reading this though, I was able to get to her because she knows about my stan on Chimamanda by the way I say her name most of the times.
She's not yet done reading it, though her complain so far is, the suggestions are too much š.

The question on how to contribute to the betterment of the society for our younger ones still leaves me wondering.
