Throughout our evolutionary history, humans have spent almost all of our time in the natural environment. Our ancestors were hunter-gatherers. It is thought that they were very deeply connected to nature in order to secure food, water, and other resources and to sustain their life activities. It is only relatively recently in the long history of mankind that we have come to live in cities as we do today.
This may be the reason why humans are attracted to nature. Of course, some people today may have a negative impression of nature. If those who have negative impressions try to force themselves to feel nature, there is no need to do so, as it may be counterproductive and stressful.
