Happiness is difficult to define, as it is felt differently by different people, but for me, happiness can be defined as "emotional stability and joy that lasts for a long time. So I thought about what I should do to achieve this happiness. I needed something to guide me, so I decided to use psychology.
Planned Happenstance Theory
British psychologist Wiseman says that luck comes to everyone, but the difference between a lucky person and a lucky person is that he or she notices the opportunities. Also, Professor Kranbolz of Stanford University, who proposed the Planned Happenstance theory, says that 80% of the turning points in career development are due to chance events. What I find interesting about this theory is the thoughts and actions of the people who obtained those careers. They had thoughts and actions that made the turning point events more likely to occur. Based on these results, I felt that in order to be happy, it was important to be sensitive to happiness, and from that day on, I decided to put my antennae up for happiness. In order to make it easier to notice happy events, I tried to notice happy events in my daily life, such as having a pleasant morning and eating a delicious meal.
Body movements and posture affect emotions.
The next thing I practiced was to change my posture and movements. The reason for this is that I learned that my posture and movements affect my emotions. Paul Ekman, an American psychologist, explains that our body movements and posture affect our emotions, just as emotions such as joy and sadness are manifested in our body movements and posture.
Knowing that smiling also affects emotions, I made a conscious effort to smile. When I started to interact with people with a smile, they often interacted with me with a smile naturally, and communication became much easier than before.
