Bienvenidos a mi blog. ¿Qué tal, amigos? Hoy les vengo a contar la experiencia de haber celebrado el Día de la Madre en el colegio de mi hija. Este año estuvo algo fuera de lo común a lo que veníamos acostumbrados en años anteriores, pues no lo hicieron dentro de la institución, sino en un lugar más grande. La dinámica que manejamos antes era muy distinta: en el colegio, los niños hacían su acto, los veíamos bailar y nos entregaban un detalle.
Welcome to my blog. How are you all doing, friends? Today I’m here to tell you about our experience celebrating Mother’s Day at my daughter’s school. This year was a bit different from what we were used to in previous years, since they didn’t hold the event at the school itself, but at a larger venue. The way we used to do it was very different: at school, the kids put on a performance, we watched them dance, and they gave us a little gift.
Este año nos fuimos al Club Italo, que es un club italiano aquí en Yaracuy. Allí nos concentramos alrededor de 500 o 600 mamás para celebrar con nuestros hijos este día tan especial. Al llegar, lo primero que te daban era un número con el cual quizá te podrías ganar alguna sorpresa; en mi caso no me gané ninguna, pero aun así fue bastante agradable ver cómo las otras mamás sí ganaron. Además de eso, había alrededor de cinco o seis ambientes decorados para tomarnos fotos con nuestros hijos. Todo estaba súper lindo y hermoso para tomarnos las fotos que quisiéramos.
This year we went to Club Italo, an Italian club here in Yaracuy. About 500 or 600 moms gathered there to celebrate this special day with our children. When we arrived, the first thing they gave you was a number that might win you a prize; in my case, I didn’t win anything, but it was still really nice to see the other moms win. On top of that, there were about five or six decorated areas where we could take photos with our children. Everything was super cute and beautiful, perfect for taking whatever photos we wanted.
Al ver cómo se iban a desenvolver todas las actividades, me di cuenta de que había bingo, dominó y yincanas, que son juegos recreativos. También estaba la parte de los inflables, jugaron voleibol y hubo bailoterapia, que fue donde yo me quedé.Aunque realmente no iba preparada para bailar, al ver a mi hija bailando —y notar que esto le hacía gracia y sonreía— me animé junto a otras mamás y realizamos toda nuestra bailoterapia.
As I watched the activities unfold, I realized there was bingo, dominoes, and scavenger hunts—all recreational games. There was also an inflatable area; they played volleyball, and there was dance therapy, which is where I stayed. Although I wasn’t really prepared to dance, seeing my daughter dance—and noticing that she was having fun and smiling—I joined in with the other moms, and we did our whole dance therapy session.Hacía muchísimo calor, pero aun así pasamos un rato súper agradable. Además de eso, nos dieron refrigerio tanto para las mamás como para los niños. Hubo buena música, las mamás pudimos compartir y los niños y niñas también. Fue una experiencia bastante agradable y fuera de lo cotidiano.
It was extremely hot, but we still had a really nice time. On top of that, they provided snacks for both the moms and the kids. There was great music, and the moms got to chat with each other, as did the kids. It was a really enjoyable experience—a nice change of pace from the usual routine.
