"Perfect Weather For Spending Time Outside"

Today I held a live painting session on the banks of the Katsura River.
The top photo is a painting completed at today's live painting.
A couple of days ago, I think, I suddenly had an idea to do a live painting. I don't remember how it started, but I had actually thought about doing a live painting at the end of last year, but thought about it and decided against it because acrylic paints dry slowly in winter.
This time, however, the weather was better and I really wanted to do it. However, I had a number of concerns. I had to prepare my belongings, I might not be able to take a cab in my usual paint-covered outfit, I might have to go to the bathroom while I was painting, and I was afraid that I might pee if I had to wait for someone. I managed to sleep.
On the day of the event, I called a cab and had it run to a convenience store at the west end of Matsuo Bridge to buy food and drinks. Then I changed into my work clothes in the restroom at the nearby train station.
I went to the riverside thinking that it was a nice day and they might be taking the place for the barbecue, but to my surprise, no one was there. But I thought it was about the time I had announced, so I got ready. The riverbed was full of clover flowers, and I could hear nightingales chirping, which lifted my spirits.
Then I started painting. Usually I don't take pictures during the painting process because it breaks my concentration, but today I took pictures (I didn't have a tripod and couldn't take video). I applied paint with a brush, cut fabric with scissors, and put on metal fittings and stickers. ......7 The second photo is of the entire improvised studio. I made quite a mess.
While I was painting, a group of people who were supposed to be having a barbecue passed by, but I am not sure if they looked in my direction. They were probably hard at work preparing.
I don't know if anyone was watching from afar, but at least I don't think there were any onlookers.
But it was warm outside and my brush ran well and I was able to paint very quickly. I think I did fairly well for a mostly impromptu painting under the fresh greenery. I wish I had brought more materials for collage, though. I didn't have many materials at hand that matched my paintings.
I cleaned up slowly, but the paint didn't dry very well, so I stuck the panel to the surface of my suitcase with duct tape and walked home, dragging it with me. By cab it would have taken less than 10 minutes, but by walking it took 30 minutes, and I was extremely tired.
Now that I have done what I wanted to do, I will concentrate on preparing for the exhibition.

「行楽日和」

本日、私は桂川の河川敷でライブペインティングを行いました。
一番上の写真は今日のライブペインティングで完成した絵です。
２、３日前だったか、急に思い立ってライブペインティングをしようと思いました。きっかけは何だったか忘れましたが、実は昨年末にもライブペインティングをしようと考えたことがあるのですが、よく考えたら冬はアクリル絵具の乾きが遅いので断念しました。
そして今度は気候もよく、ぜひやりたいと思いました。ただ不安はいくつもありました。持ち物を準備しないといけませんでしたし、いつもの絵の具がついた格好じゃタクシーに乗せてくれないかもしれない、描いている最中にトイレに行きたくなって、誰かを待っていたら漏らすんじゃなかろうか、とか色々不安はあって、前日は緊張しました。なんとか眠れましたけど。
で、当日タクシーを呼んで、松尾橋西詰のコンビニまで走ってもらって、食べ物飲み物を買いました。そして近くの駅のトイレで作業服に着替えました。
今日はまあまあいい天気だからバーベキューの場所取りをしているんじゃないかと思いながら河川敷に行くと、なんと誰もいませんでした。でもそろそろ予告した時間だしと思って準備をしました。河川敷にはクローバーの花がいっぱい咲いていて、鴬の鳴き声が聞こえて、気分が高まってきました。
そして描き始めました。普段は途中で写真を撮ると集中が途切れるので途中の写真は撮らないのですが、今日は写真を撮りました（三脚がなく動画は撮れませんでした）。２番目から６番目の写真です。筆で絵具を塗っていって、はさみで切った布を貼り、金具やシールを貼り……７番目は即席アトリエ全体の写真です。結構散らかしてしまいました。
描いている途中でバーベキューをすると思われるグループの人が通りましたが、私の方を見たかどうかわかりません。多分準備で一生懸命だったでしょう。
遠くから見ている人がいたかどうかはわかりませんが、少なくとも見物人はいなかったんじゃないかと思います。
でも外は暖かくて筆はよく走り、とても速く描けました。新緑の下でほとんど即興で描いたにしてはまあまあよく描けたと思います。もう少しコラージュの材料をたくさん持ってきたらよかったなあと思いましたが。あまり絵に合う素材が手もとになかったので。
ゆっくり片付けをしましたが絵具がなかなか乾かず、スーツケースの表面にパネルをガムテープで貼り付けて、それを引っ張りながら自宅まで歩いて帰りました。タクシーだと10分もかからないのですが、歩くと30分かかり、ものすごく疲れました。
さて、とりあえずやりたいことはやったので、あとは個展の準備に集中します。
