Hello everyone! Two weeks ago, I visited my aunty and she said she had a furniture for me. I looked curiously and noticed the decorative display rack she showed me. She did use it but it was still in a good condition. So I was delighted and glad she was passing it to me. Along with the modern looking furniture, she also gave me many cute decorations to decorate it with.
This is the furniture. It was a simple display rack with many layers so we can showcase decorations. It was in plain white shade and this is after wiping it clean so there's no dust and we found the perfect space to put it. It was actually quite small in terms of surface area it covers on the ground so it was easy to find a space.
The decorations were mostly either Christmas themed or Chinese New Year themed. So this one is a deer and it seemed like papier mache as it was very light in weight. However due to that it was not very balanced and kept going off balance even with a gentle tap on the furniture or wind. So my aunty already put on some air dry clay on the feet to add balance and it helped to some degree but it kept moving during winds. So my mother added another layer of clay so it has a stronger grip on the rack. Now it looks like it has high heeled hooves but at least it's no longer shaking or falling.
This is a cute origami dragon with little googly eyes. There are actually many different animals in this design of origami and I guess they are released based on the zodiac of the year. They are displayed for good luck and happiness. It has Velcro stickers so we can easily put it together in the right shape. It is in red as that's the colour of luck in Chinese culture and comes in lightweight honeycomb folding design to give a 3 dimensional appearance.
This is a box full of more decorations.
These are the items in the box. I laid them out on the table to take a better look and clean them if needed.
I found this cute lantern hanging decoration that's usually displayed for the lunar festival. I placed it at the front door with a magnet as my house door has a metal frame at the side.
I tried to arrange them one by one and placed the items at adjacent angles so both items can be seen.
I switched some of the items. The hedgehog looked too sad all alone so I put him with the other decorations. Now he looks brighter and happier. I also put all the plants together. They were all fake so they don't require any regular maintenance except dusting. They add a nice pop of colour to the display.
This is a wealth treasure frame ornament. It is a Feng Shui decorative item displayed at home to attract prosperity and luck. It has a gold key on top and I'm guessing that it symbolizes the key to wealth and has many little gold ornaments all over the frame. I got these in larger forms too in other decorative items in my room.
This is the final setting of the decorations. My mother added a few statues of Taoist deities after this and put the wealth frame on top but I didn't snap a picture of them.
I guess mishaps sometimes and my mother accidentally broke the vase while washing these flowers. So they won't be a part of this for a while until we get a new vase. These are the flowers and they always add a beautiful warmth to the space.
I also turned the decorative lights on to add more colours to this memory. I think it turned out absolutely cute and cheerful. I moved the hanging little lanterns from the door area to this piece of decoration as it is made of metal. So I could just stick the magnet on it. I hope this brings more luck and positivity to my home and family.
It was so fun to put this up and see the final outcome of it. My generous aunty actually gave me another box full of aesthetic items to put on my desk. I have ready set them all up too. Thank you for dropping by and I hope that you have a wonderful day ahead.
