The word Ostara comes from the Anglo-Saxon goddess name, Eostre who represented spring and new beginnings, the Equinox, and now on longer days and shorter nights. This is a time of renewal and growth. We need to "align ourselves with our purpose, prepare to grow and embrace the light"
The Equinoxes take place when the length of day and night are the same, so in the Northern hemisphere, now on we have longer days.

As I do all along the "Wheel of the Year" I love to share these dates that marks the beginning of all seasons and midpoints, and the endless cycles of nature.
So here is a selection of some of my seasonal photography and music (some have been shared separately) but here is a curated selection of some of my Spring pictures. These are from previous Springs, but as once more we are back Which one is your favourite?
Above: Daffodils, heralds of the Spring, among the first ones to bloom. Symbols of renewal and also of friendship. During Victorian times they were pressed into letters for your friends.
Spring rising... everything is tender and waking up from its slumber.
In Greek Mythology Goddess Persephone was kidnapped by Hades, King of the Underworld, as she was tricked to eat a cursed pomegranate's seeds, she had to agree to remain in the Underworld half of the year. When she emerges, Spring unfurls.
Above: Bear Garlic fields
Above: Idunn, Spring Goddess in Norse Mythology, the keeper of apples and granter of eternal youthfulness providing immortality to the gods. Apple trees were the symbol of rebirth and beauty. The Apple tree is sacred in Norse mythology.
Above: Vesna is a mythological early Slavic goddess associated with youth and Spring
Above: Dandelions meadows. The underappreciated early flower is important to sustain bees during early Spring. They're also edible from bloom to root.
And as we move forward into full bloom, our next stop in the Wheel of the Year will be Beltane, which means "white fire" and it's what we call May Day, when Spring peaks, so then I will share another compilation of Spring photography then.
21 of March was also National Day of...
21st of March was not only the beginning of Spring.
ps. As a curiosity, 21st of March has been also WORLD POETRY DAY, WORLD PUPPETRY DAY and WORLD COLOUR DAY.
And remember as I ALWAYS say (to the point of repetition because it's a lesson of Nature to me) there always comes a time to bloom and grow. So keep going!
