El cuartel de las feas, fue uno de los mejores medios para hacer reír a la gente y evitar el clasismo y burlarse del mismo, esta novela aún sigue vigente Y puedo decir que Muchas personas hoy en día la han vuelto a ver y los que no la habían visto la han visto y les ha gustado, una novela que sin duda nos ayuda a quitar el estrés y hacernos ver que la humildad y la belleza interior es mucho más hermosa que la externa.

Today I want to share with you an idea I’ve been thinking about for a few days now. I have to confess that, for a while, I really loved soap operas—there are some that have brought me both smiles and tears. So why not start a series about the soap operas we’ve enjoyed in some way and that have left a mark on us? Some have taught me lessons and given me fond memories of times gone by, and it’s nice to be able to look back on them.

This initiative will focus on three soap operas that have left a mark on us and those beautiful memories they bring back from when we watched them. It’s like a “Throwback Thursday” for soap operas—what do you think? I’m sure some of us have watched hundreds of soap operas and surely remember them, but only three are the ones that may have touched your heart the most, so let’s get started.

Let’s start with the oldest one—even if my ID card falls out of my pocket—Por estas calles was a novel that shook things up; it was written by Ibsen Martínez between 1992 and 1994, featuring many artists of great stature. Among the lessons of this soap opera, I can say that it showed us the reality of a country where corruption has always been an evil that has never died out, and where people from the lower social classes are the most affected. I was little when I watched that soap opera, and I always remember eating a María cookie with milk; it was one of my favorite times to watch the show. One of the things I loved and was afraid of was the Man with the Label—he was like a hero and a villain at the same time. He cleaned up the city on his own because the justice system that should have done so didn’t. and while he was a fictional character, he was one who left a lasting impression, and I still believe we need that vigilante to rid our country of so much scum.

Among the memorable lines is “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it”, spoken by a character named Eudomar Santos—a phrase that became famous back then and teaches us that there are people who improvise day by day just to get by.

This is a Colombian soap opera about the life of one of Diomedes Diaz’s sons, now known as Martin Elias. I’ve always loved Colombian soap operas because their storylines are really good and funny—they make me laugh a lot, and I love them as a form of stress relief. I watched this soap opera during a tough time in my life, and it became a refuge where I could escape reality.

This novel taught me that family is the most important thing in life and that together we are invincible. It also teaches us that there is nothing better than being authentic. He didn’t want to build his legacy on his father’s coattails; rather, he wanted to be recognized on his own merits, just as each of us wants to be recognized for our virtues. and something even more important is humility—he was very close to people, and that’s what made him greater, since success can be fleeting.

This is another one of those Colombian soap operas that made history and is considered one of the best in history. Betty—I remember it aired at 1 p.m., and I used to watch it with my mom. Those were moments filled with laughter and fun. This soap opera broke stereotypes; the lead wasn’t the usual beautiful, glamorous heroine, but rather an unattractive one. Yet her virtues didn’t lie in her outward beauty, but in the inner beauty of her heart.

El cuartel de las feas was one of the best ways to make people laugh and to avoid and mock classism. This show is still relevant today, and I can say that many people have rewatched it, and those who hadn’t seen it before have watched it and liked it. It’s a show that undoubtedly helps relieve stress and makes us see that humility and inner beauty are far more beautiful than external beauty.
