Is there anything sadder than a bad boy left out on the streets? I don't think so. Just look at him. He was forced to become a sex slave a few years ago. Now, out on the streets, he has to take shady people for a ride to fuel his crack and meth addiction. His only companion is his trustworthy bucket where he stores the stolen goods which he sells for drugs.
Since this page also offers healing to broken souls I offered help. He wanted none of it. He broke down crying, sobbing that he couldn't be saved. I told him redemption was possible. I comforted him. I did what anyone would do.
This room is at the end of a maze of corridors in an old abandoned insane asylum. Exploring this place was a unique moment, lulled by a very special atmosphere, as the first rays of daylight slipped through the windows covered with ivy colored by autumn. 🌿
Not a sound, just the echo of our footsteps in these great dark and empty corridors. Outside, small birds are flapping and singing, hopping around in the trees and vegetation that have invaded what once was the inner courtyard of the hospital, probably used as a small garden. 🌲
It's hard to imagine what could have taken place within these walls, as at the time, the way the hospital treated patients with mental illness was rather brutal. Electroshock was common, and many experimental operations were performed on the nervous system, so the tranquility of this place contrasts sharply with its history. 🍀
After almost 40 years of abandonment, everything is still there, and nature is slowly doing its work, reclaiming this place filled with suffering, and soothing it in its own way... A feeling of sadness comes over me as I stand one last time in front of this huge building covered in red ivy, my feet in the tall grass. 🍁
It's dfficult to leave, as this place is hypnotizing, seeming to draw all my thoughts into it, and I realize that after several hours of exploring it, I haven't thought of anything else, just fascinated by what I saw and lived, as if cut off from the world in a strange bubble, mixing discomfort and wonder... 👻
