Today was a very hectic day for me. I spent the day in the farm; actually, I was planting plantain suckers from morning till later in the day. The work was not easy at all, but it was necessary because plantain farming requires serious effort and commitment, especially during the planting season. The plantain market has become a very viable market as many people today eat plantain in different forms such as fried, boiled, roasted, or even processed into flour and chips. Because of this high demand, plantain farming has turned into a profitable venture for many farmers.
That was why I had to work hard in order to make sure that I would plant enough plantain suckers for the next farming season. I wanted to maximize the opportunity and prepare ahead so that when the harvest time comes, I will have good yields to supply the market. While planting, I also paid attention to spacing and proper placement of the suckers to ensure healthy growth and better productivity in the future.
While planting, I also noticed some garbage and dirt around the area, which could negatively affect the growth of the crops. I had to take care of it by clearing the farm environment because leaving such waste could attract pests, diseases, and poor soil conditions. Cleaning the area was important to create a conducive environment for the plantain suckers to grow well. Although the day was stressful and tiring, it was productive, and I felt fulfilled knowing that the hard work I put in today will bring good results in the future. KiDi
