Trash has been piling up at the office for a couple of weeks.
and the trash truck and workers who usually take it out are nowhere to be seen. My workplace is built in a way that you can only see people when you go out to the corridor and not when you are inside, hence the difficulty in knowing when the truck is passing. To make it worse, I cannot leave the trash outside for them to pick up whenever they pass because we occupy the top floor, and people living below may take offense. Today, I was determined to dispose of this trash at all costs, as it was already breeding roaches, rats, and flies since the trash bucket lid has been missing, leaving it open.
As I got to the office today, after sweeping, dusting, and cleaning, I went to hang out in the corridor and also wait to see when the trash truck would pass by so I could call the workers to take out my trash.
Luckily, I didn't have to wait long before I spotted a truck across the street. Apparently, the gutters were cleaned yesterday, and some rubbish was left on the street, so the workers were there to clear up the mess. I quickly signaled to one of the workers to come take my trash afterward.
When he came up to empty my bin, he requested a tip, which I gave him, and he cleared and cleaned every mess made in the corridor where the bin had been sitting. I was glad to have taken out the trash; now I don't have to worry about rats eating my mouse and charging extension, nor do I have to worry about roaches running up my body again.
Work went smoothly, and by 5 pm I headed home. When I arrived home, I quickly picked up my bucket and trash bag to do some cleaning in the streets. Some boys playing football helped speed up the process so they could continue playing. Below are some pictures.
