A dirty planet has a negative impact on the inhabitants and the planet itself. If people knew this, they would make it their priority to keep the planet clean. The planet produces food for our consumption, so choking it with trash will make it very difficult to produce the food the population needs. Many countries have cut down trees and forests, which are the lifeline of our planet, to build industries and, in most cases, to bury toxic waste. Many parts of the world where this waste is buried haven't seen green vegetation for a long time because the toxic waste kills the soil in that region.
Thank God most of Africa is safe from the toxic waste improperly disposed of by big companies, but Africans suffer from unlimited rubber waste. This waste substance can easily be detected and disposed of properly. That's where I come in. I think people know the right thing to do when it comes to proper disposal of trash, but it seems like a burden to them to hold onto a particular piece of trash until they find a proper place to dispose of it. I used to think it was ignorance, but it's not; it's human nature to bend the rules and do whatever makes one comfortable. Despite that, I still have to engage in cleaning the planet, if not for anything, for myself, my family, and the planet.
