HOW I FEEL
It was awkward on the first day cleaning other people's trash. At one point, I thought to myself, "I shouldn't be doing this; the trash isn't mine." I asked myself, "Why would someone in their right mind throw trash around indiscriminately? Why won't they just do things the right way to avoid others doing the dirty work for them?" Thousands of questions kept flooding in and out of my head until the work was done. Then I saw how clean and beautiful the whole place looked, and I understood that not everyone will think and do things the way I do. We are all different.
DOING IT AGAIN
After the conclusion of the cleaning, I felt fulfilled, like I had achieved something big, as if I had contributed my strength and time to the community. It felt good, and I liked that feeling. That's why I always try my best to engage in the cleaning exercise on my own on a daily basis, even though there are some obstacles preventing me from posting about it every day, mainly due to the poor electricity distribution in my country. But if I had to do it again, I would do it voluntarily.
ENCOURAGING OTHERS
I always try to tell people about the benefits of keeping the environment clean, how safe and clean it will be for everyone. But it's funny that even when I state all the benefits, including the benefits of posting about it in our community, many still disdain the idea, questioning why they should pick up trash on the street for a token. Pride has overtaken many people, and it's often these same people who litter the environment, expecting others like us to clean up after them. But I keep spreading the word because I believe in a clean environment.
