For the cultivation of corn/Maize, it is first necessary to prepare the land. For this, the land is made fine and rough. The tools used in it or the agricultural tools that I have used, the land was dug while harvesting the sweet potato and after that, a deep plow was also done.
Land Preparation
Since I have already told you that when the sweet potato was harvested, a digger was used for it. With the help of the digger, when the sweet potato is uprooted from the ground, the ground is also uprooted.
Now it has been deeply plowed twice with the help of a tractor and a plow so that both digging and depth of the land are possible.
Here I would like to share with you a little bit that as soon as I use the tractor to plow the field, the village children run towards it because the sweet potatoes lying in the field come out of the ground and the children and adults pick them up for their food and it is very dangerous and interesting too.
After plowing deeply twice, a laser level has been used to level the land. Approximately one point, which is equal to one hour, has been used to level the land so that the water level remains exactly the same. For this, I have had to pay 3200 Pakistanis. They charge rent on a per-hour basis. It also includes oil.
While plowing the land, there are weeds and grasses that I am picking up and throwing out of the field. In these pictures, I have tried to show you the weeds so that you can identify them. These weeds later prove to be harmful to the crop and become part of the nutrition it receives.
Now once again the land has been deeply ploughed and it is time to use a rotavator to make the land finer, so I have also rented a rotavator on rent. He had given me a time of 5 pm. He had come to the field at that time with the rotavator and he had called me in the field itself asking me to be present in the field at that time and you should also come. You can see the darkness of the evening in the pictures from that time. Now I would like to tell you that the rent charges for it are 3500 Pakistani rupees which I have paid to the rotavator owner.
The procedure of land preparation started on January 16, but the harvest of sweet potato was on December 18, 2025, and it took some time for the land to dry. Now this procedure was completed from January 16 to January 20.
Purchase of Seeds and Seed Treatment
The first and most important step is to buy seeds and in this Selection is of utmost importance because it depends on what your crop production is going to be. If you get good-quality seeds, then it can be the first priority to increase your production. But if the seeds are substandard and unhealthy, it not only affects your crop production but can also prove to be detrimental to your income.
For this, I prefer the dealer selected by the company. The seed 6321 Dakalb, which is cultivated from January 15 to February 15, which belongs to the Monsanto company, is in high demand and its rate is increasing day by day. So, I bought this seed from the company's dealer Yousaf. The price of this seed is 22500 and the price of the poison used for coating it is 500 rupees.
Now the step of coating the poison on the seeds is in front of me. I have put a little water in the bottle because this medicineis in powder form and it has to be mixed. After dissolving it, the seeds were taken out of the bag and placed on a sieve so that they fell onto the ground, and the shaken mixture was sprinkled over them. A sieve was tied to the paper and the mixture was mixed. After a while, it was exposed to the sun, allowing it to dry. After drying for about half an hour, it was placed back in the same bag.
Seed Planting and Use of Fertilizer through a Drill Dachine
First of all, let's talk about fertilizer. Some farmers apply it during land preparation and some later, when the plants are one to two feet tall, I have decided to apply a fertilizer through a drill machine along with the sowing of corn. Since corn is being cultivated through a drill, DAP fertilizer will also be applied to the soil along with the sowing.
Before putting the seeds in the machine, coarse and fine seeds are separated with the help of a sieve because there are different dies for them so that there is no delay during the cultivation. The dies have been shifted with the drill machine and now the seeds are being planted.
As you can see, the planting process has started and this is a stage where the farmer's crop depends on the distance between the plants through this machine. If the distance between the plants is eight inches and the depth is two inches and it is heard that its yield increases considerably.
Cultivation through labor The dew production of the corn that is being sown is somewhat less because the dew production may decrease due to the low amount of seeds and plants. The complete irrigation has been done through the drill. The total cost of this procedure is three thousand rupees.
In the morning, I had to do some work in the field because before watering, I had to make the field ready for watering, as I had to correct its corners and remove the soil from the front of its vines. At that time, the sun is also rising in the morning and it is a beautiful sight.

Now in such a situation, the next step is irrigation. I have watered the corn and kept its level low so that its moisture does not rise too much but it must reach the depth of the seed. After the irrigation is complete, I have stopped the water from entering the field so that the water level does not rise further.
The weather has become a little bad because the chances of rain are clearly visible. The sky is covered with clouds and it also rained at night, which has made the ground more wet, but I think that it did not rain that much and it will not harm the cultivation.
Spray to Prevent Weeds
After the rain, the weather has become pleasant and after irrigation and irrigation of the corn, the roots have sprouted within 24 hours. Spraying is required to prevent weeds or grass so that the grass does not become an obstacle to the sugarcane. For this, I talked to a worker who is an expert in spraying. We have to install four spray tanks per acre.
He has put the spray and water in the tank and now he has started spraying. This last stage of ours has been completed after sowing.
