Maize Crop Update | Water, Urea, Humic Acid and Sulfur Application in My Field
Agriculture is not just a profession for me but also a responsibility. When we sow seeds in the ground, we also sow hope that after a few months, this same land will give us a good yield. That is why I take special care of my crop at every stage and keep sharing its updates from time to time.
Today I want to share with you the current situation of my maize field and the fertilizers and water application in it in detail.
I cultivated this maize using a drill. The advantage of cultivating using a drill is that the seeds are planted in a straight line and the distance between the plants is also appropriate, which makes it easy to care for the crop and water it.
At the time of cultivation, I also added a sack of DAP fertilizer to the soil using a drill. The aim was to ensure that the plant gets good nutrition from the beginning and its roots can become strong.
In this field, I have used the hybrid maize seed DK 6321 Maize Hybrid. This variety is quite famous for its good yield and strong growth and is also liked by the farmers of our area.
So far, this crop has received four waterings and, thank God, the condition of the crop is looking quite good. Timely watering is very important in the maize crop because lack of water can affect the growth of the plants.
After each watering, I inspect the field thoroughly to know the condition of the plants and what else they need.
In the last two waterings, I used different fertilizers for better growth of the crop.
First, I used a bag of urea fertilizer which was divided into two parts. Half a sack of urea was added with one watering, while the remaining half sack was added with the next watering.
Along with this, I also used four liters of humic acid so that the soil condition improves and the plants can easily absorb nutrients.
Similarly, I also added one kilo of sulfur so that the soil fertility remains good and the nutritional needs of the plants can be met.
Along with all this, I also sprayed to prevent the attack of caterpillars so that the crop can be protected from damage.
Recently, I have given my field another watering and added some important nutrients with this water.
This time I have used one sack of urea fertilizer. Along with this, eight kilos of granular humic acid were also added to further improve the fertility of the soil.
Similarly, two kilos of sulfur were also added.
I first mixed all these things with water in a drum to prepare a solution and then released this solution into the field through water. In this way, the fertilizer spreads easily throughout the field with water and the plants get uniform nutrition.
You can see in the pictures that some wild grasses and herbs are also visible in the field. If this grass grows too much, it starts competing with the crop and also uses more nutrients and water from the soil.
For this reason, I have decided that in the coming days, a spray will be done to eliminate the weeds. I will share complete information about this spray and its results in my next post.
Alhamdulillah, the condition of the crop is looking quite good at the moment. The leaves of the plants are green and healthy and the growth is also happening at a reasonable pace.
If timely water and fertilizers are used in the same way, it is hoped that this crop will improve further in the coming days and yield good yields.
Hard work and patience are very important in the life of a farmer. After sowing seeds in the ground, we constantly take care of it and hope that Allah Almighty will reward us well for this hard work.
I will continue to share my crop updates with all of you in the same way so that the farmer brothers who read this post can also benefit in some way.
