AssalamuAlaikum & Greetings Hive Family!
It's me
Farming is a job that requires hard work and attention. For good production, the farmer has to take care of the field, water it on time, apply fertilizer and protect the crop from pests and diseases. Today I am sharing with you the latest status of my corn crop, in which the field was watered, fertilizer was added and sprayed to protect it from caterpillar attack. All these steps are very important for better growth of the crop and good yield.
The first thing I did this morning was to turn on my solar water pump. In the present era, solar systems have become a great convenience for farmers as it reduces the cost of electricity or diesel to a great extent. This pump, powered by sunlight, provides continuous water without any additional cost. When I turned on the pump, water slowly started flowing through the field channels towards the corn crop. The spread of water in the field always gives a pleasant feeling because water is the lifeblood of the crop. If irrigation is not done on time, the crop can become weak and its growth can be affected.
The water slowly spread throughout the field through the solar water pump and reached the roots of the corn plants. Adequate moisture is very important for the corn crop as it promotes rapid plant growth and keeps the leaves healthy and fresh. I took special care to ensure that the water spread evenly throughout the field so that each plant gets the same amount of moisture and the growth of the crop is not affected. If there is too much water in one place and too little in another, it can affect the growth of the plants. Therefore, monitoring the field during irrigation is an essential process. When the water spread well in the field, I started the next important step, which was adding fertilizer.
To provide nutrition to the corn crop, I prepared a fertilizer solution in a drum. In this solution, I added:
| Half a sack of urea |
| One kilo of sulfur |
I added water to the drum and mixed both of them well so that they were completely dissolved. After that, this solution was added to the water applied in the field so that the nutrients could reach the roots of the plants directly through the water. This method is considered very effective because it spreads the fertilizer evenly throughout the field.
Urea is actually an important source of nitrogen, which is a very important element for plant growth. The benefits of nitrogen are as follows:
Promotes green growth of plants.
Makes the color of leaves darker and healthier.
Strengthens the stem.
Increases overall crop yield.
When corn gets adequate nitrogen, its leaves look greener and stronger.Similarly, sulfur is also an important nutrient that improves the nutritional process within the plant. The presence of sulfur further improves the effect of nitrogen and the overall health of the plant remains good.
A day before irrigation, I had thoroughly inspected the field to understand the condition of the crop well. During this time, I saw signs of caterpillar attack on some plants.Caterpillars are such harmful insects that damage the crop by eating the leaves of corn. If it is not controlled in time, it can spread rapidly and affect the crop yield. In the local language, this problem is sometimes called a pest attack.
I noticed that some plants had small holes on their leaves and in some places the leaves looked cut. These were clear signs that the caterpillar was damaging the plants. The caterpillar often hides in the inner part of the leaf or in the leaf cluster, which makes it difficult to see and eliminate it at times. That is why immediate action is necessary as soon as its presence is detected.
When the field was completely flooded, the next day I sprayed to eliminate the caterpillars.I carefully sprayed the entire field with the spray machine so that the medicine reached every plant. I paid special attention to the inner parts of the leaves because the caterpillars mostly hide there. The purpose of the spray was to immediately stop the spread of the caterpillars and prevent further damage to the crop. This process is very important for the farmer because if the pests are not controlled in time, then many months of hard work can be wasted.
Successful farming of the crop is not limited to sowing the seeds, but continuous care is necessary after that.A responsible farmer should:
Irrigate on time.
Apply fertilizer in the right amount.
Inspect the field regularly.
Prevent diseases and pests in time.
All these steps together keep the crop healthy and help in getting better yields.
Now the corn crop has also received water, essential nutrients have also been provided and spraying has also been done to prevent the attack of caterpillars. After these steps, it is hoped that the crop will grow even better. In the coming days, I will continue to monitor the field continuously so that if any problem arises, it can be resolved immediately.Farming is actually a matter of patience, hard work and experience. When a farmer takes care of his field with all his heart, nature also takes care of him.
