Hello wonderful hivers
Good evening and happy new week to you all. I believe you all had a wonderful weekend with family and friends and today is just Monday, new energy, new vibes and passion towards agriculture.
This evening as I was walking around our compound, and while doing that my eyes went to a nutritious vegetable plant beside the fence. And I got inspired to write about it Because this plant has been really beneficial to us here in West Africa and to be specific here in Nigeria and is commonly called "hospital too far" and also "Iyana ipaja" by the Yorubas.
Its scientific name is jatropha tanjorensis. This plant is very beneficial to humans and the plant is well blessed because every part of the plant is useful; the seeds, leaves and other parts are very medical.
The leaves: the leaves and its extract is used as a blood booster and it also strengthens the human lungs. It can also be used as a supplement when you have blood toxicity. Not only used as blood booster but due to its nutrient value some homes used it as spice in their dishes
The stems: the stem is used as an herb to cure heart disease.
Aside from the nutritional value it can also be used as flowers to beautify the compound.
Hope you find this helpful.
