Hello everyone,
How are you all doing?
The season of planting is here again and it is actually the season we have been waiting for, especially the rain to come. For me I have long ago cleared up my space. I was just waiting for it to rain so I could start planting.
Surprisingly yesterday was the second time it's been raining this year and it was heavy, and it's actually a good time to start planting.
I tilled my soil, am making bed for my vegetable, it a very big space as you can see, it my first time of cultivating this big space and I super excited of the growth am experiencing, since the farm is big am trying to take things easily, I don't want to rush but gradually I will have to do it daily before I resume school.
I tilled the soil this space is just for vegetable, maize and cocoyam, the soil is a fertile one, it is as given to me by my dad, it just a space close to my house which has been really put to use, I have made up my mind to maximize every single space to plant what I want to.
It is going to be a mixed farming system, yeah I don't just plant only vegetables, I also plant cassava in other areas, melon and cucumbers yeah these are just what I will be planting.
So today I was able to till this small space for vegetables, maize and cocoyam. I hope to continue tomorrow. I will keep you updated.
You may be wondering why I am using the mixed system method. Well, I am from Nigeria and the economy is too high, life is difficult to leave, especially now that we are having a policy of less cash in circulation, so we just have to survive and there is no life without good food.
The high level of increase in the price of food stuff is really not something we fold my hands and watch, since I have the passion and there is space for me to utilized I don't have someone to tell to start planting, as a young farmer my aim is to see how to bring more food stuff to the community to less the high price of food stuff.
Well I don't have enough money, I would have employed laborers to come help me with the tilling, but since I don't have, I had to take it upon myself to do the work, though it is stressful but the results will definitely be worth the labor.
