I have been keeping rabbits since January 2022; I started taking care of three specimens, two female and one male. I am a bit excited to feed them daily until they are multiple. Taking care of them could also be extraordinarily stressful; those who kept rabbits knew how to struggle with it, especially when we encounter a phenomenon of disease; that is why I want to get exposed community. Where I could get interact with co-farmer and agriculture-minded individuals.

I am an agriculturist with a license, so I a bit have the idea of practicing farming; one of this raising livestock. I am also exposed to crypto as I am breathing in an urban type of living. I wanted to retire to work as young as possible and get into farming instead. So that is why I started my small farming stock of rabbits.
In my place, the rabbit wasn't yet fully considered livestock; they were still a pet. And I still get that; they're still market as children who also wanted to have a rabbit as a friend.
What Breed am I raising?
I liked the color white as plain, for it represents purity. I keep a New Zealand breed, not that expensive pedigree, for I was still a starter back then; even though the books provide knowledge in supporting and raising, I still wanted to have experience within my self-discovery. Maybe someday, I will purchase a breed that will be valued at a high price.
What is my feeding practice?
I fed them with a commercial pellet high in crude protein and also grasses available in my places, such as Madre de Aqua or Trichanthera, packed with so many organic benefits, some sweet potato tops, and more grasses and sedges that are available anywhere for free. This is the advantage of having rabbits raising them with cheap varieties of food, organically grown better than commercial feed one.
Also, rice straw is highly available in our area, so also free food for them. They liked to eat high fiber content such as dried grass and hays; I provide them with dried forage at night as they said to be nocturnal and more active easting at night.
I am a bit instilled in the process of learning.
What problem have I already encountered?
I saw the result of negligence, diseases, and even predators. Mortality had been present this past few months for predators had come inside the territory of my rabbits, also bloat stomach disease due to negligence in my feeding period. It stressed that the temperature in my country is much heat as we were under the fire ring.
How about breeding?
This is what I enjoy at the moment, breeding and nursery of their kits. Which also exciting waits for the fur phenotype and genotype still surprised me. I breed a New Zealand white and Herculine type, and the result was the color black; I am also planning to buy in future a line of breeds that will stand out in the form of body compositions and fur colors.
I have more to get as I know; that is why I loved to enter a Hive community where the farming paradigm was interesting; this is the field of my expertise and future. Also, this is my first blog in the community; for that, I shall thank you in advance.
