I am very happy because the vegetables in my garden are thriving again. Last year, I planted some vegetables that did not germinate very well, or after planting the seedlings in their final location, they did not thrive.
Today, when I was walking around the plants, I noticed that my eggplant plants already have many flowers, and even the eggplants are growing very well. There aren't many plants, but at least there are five that are leafy, flowering, pest-free, and bearing fruit.
My green fig plant, planted in a pot, has several tiny figs on its main branch, and this is the first one, and it hasn't fallen off. It's still there. It continues to grow.
I also found a red chili plant growing in the recycled tire where I planted the turmeric plants. At first, I thought it was a paprika or chili pepper plant, but now, based on these fruits, I am convinced that it is a hot chili pepper plant. I did not plant it; it was brought by the breeze from where the mother plant was, about a meter and a half away.
Although my papaya plant made me excited when it first started flowering, it has been many years since a papaya plant with female flowers grew in my garden. On the contrary, from the beginning it produced female flowers, but no fruit grew to maturity. The fruits turn yellow when they reach approximately 10 cm and then fall off.
I haven't lost hope that at some point it will gain strength and grow small, red, sweet papayas.
This soursop plant is also producing many flowers, but when the petals fall off, the fruit doesn't develop and dries up. I don't really know what the problem is. But I'm still investigating, and at some point these fruits will grow.
My banana plants are producing a few bunches of fruit, as usual. I fertilize them and water them, but something is missing. This plant should bear at least five bunches of bananas. And it no longer does. It is in the soil that I always fertilize with plenty of nitrogen-rich organic fertilizer.
Until my next vegetable or fruit harvest.
