Hello Hivers 💕💘,
As it is we are moving towards the harvesting of the cassava which was planted inside the mobile sack for more than 6 months. This is also one of the reason why we should always try our best to get along with the moves to which we will survive through agriculture. Agriculture is a way to motivate even the novice on how to keep in touch with the nature and what we have as a whole on ground. Sometimes when we are left with nothing you can always look out for greater things through nature.
When I cultivated this cassava some few months ago it was just like yesterday and this is simply because, it was just like a joke. When it became reality is this. When the harvesting is about to be done. And the land preparation is also very small and limit. When the soil preparation was done some months ago, it gave me the rest of mind that the cassava will always do great before the final harvesting. This is how it looks like the cassava plant which has now reach it final stage of harvesting.
- The niece will also remain as it is but on the other hand, you will always be checking the root or the soil. There are always some signs to look for the pictures below.
Sometimes you may also see that the cassava plant grow with tiny stem but has a lot in the soil during the harvesting.
The soil will always be crack. This is also one of the good signs you must look out for. For every tuber crops. When you see this sign you must take a lot of precautions to harvest within few days or week. The reason been that anytime soon it will start to go bad.
- My kids are also on the lookout for what's going to come out from the harvest.
When the harvest begin it will quickly show what we have on board. And this will also show what we have done for 6 months and some few weeks.
This is how the tubers cracks the soil slowly within few month close to 6 months and half. But if you have a lot of patience and much space. I mean agricultural Farmland, you may leave it for 8 months before you harvest.
- The Leaves.
The cassava leaves is also set aside separately because it has one or two things it can be used for medically. So practically speaking when it is being fetched, you dry it in room temperature. After 3 week to 4 weeks, you grind it and make it into powder. It is ready for usage.
You can fetch the leaves, from the stalk, and carefully remove it one after the other.
This was carefully selected by my little baby girl as instructed by the Grandma. She want to use the powdered cassava leaves.
