I am currently living on a new site — a place where I have to start afresh at something I haven't done for a long time now. The beautiful thing about starting on a new site is that, instead of wasting land for other activities, one can make use of it for the purpose of farming.

Recently, I was shocked to see that animals from far and near ate up my maize plantation. I, for a while, was bamboozled.
However, I didn't quit. I sprinkled animal droppings on the leaves of the banana plants as well as the spinach leaves. Recently, I have made a bed and planted some Dioscorea species. I planted Dioscorea alata and rotundata.
Additionally, I channelled waste water to my spinach plant, which made it grow well. Sadly, I lost all my maize plants to the aggressive, corn-eating chickens within my community. Only farmers know the pain of planting and animals eating up, parasitically, the growing fruits — or rewards — of our labour.
Additionally, I noticed some bean plants growing, and that kept me wondering whether I should leave them or uproot them.
Tomorrow, I would be planting a coconut tree to serve as a windbreak and to also beautify the house.
Trust me, I am enjoying myself. Feel free to check the photos below!
