Heraklion, a city of charming diversity!

Heraklion is a beautiful seaside city, it is the capital of Crete island located in Greece.

Heraklion, a multifaceted city ...

With its 5000 years of history, its many conquerors throughout the age of time, Heraklion is a city that combines both historical elements while being a vibrant and busy hub

One of the most known places, most often photographed spot of the city is the Koules - Rocca Al Mare Venetian Fortress.

A 500 year fortress that was built to protect the city from the invadors, it it cells many stories and legends exist...

Heraklion is also renowned for its Archaeological Museum, where the visitor can see artifacts in a more than 5000 time span - from the ancient Knossos Palace time, where the Minoan Civilization thrived

You may also find impressive temples, this temple stands since the Byzantine times and has been restored to its glory

There are also many corners with impressive neoclassical buildings that show an extra flair to the town ...

And then, there is an opposite site - small, tiny, colorful houses

resembling to the old times ...

As well as impressive street art - in many many places of the city!!

All in all, in Heraklion ..
You can never be bored :)
