I'm posting this as a question really, to find out if other people are seeing the same issue I'm experiencing.
Up until recently, I used Ecency as the main front end I posted to Hive from. A couple of weeks ago, their image server failed. The devs have worked hard to try to fix it, but images on older posts are still in the process of being restored, and new images quite often need two or three attempts to get them to upload.
The real problem is that due to endless frustrating image issues, I started posting from PeakD. That's when I realised;
- If I'd created a post in Ecency, PeakD would only show me a "Not Found" graphic for each image.
- If I'd created a post in PeakD, Ecency would not have a thumbnail and in the post would just show it's name and a small grey box with a cross in.
- For posts where I had become fed up waiting for Ecency to re-create the image, and edited it in PeakD to upload the image from there, it messed the images up totally, and they often wouldn't appear in either platform.
I'd love to know if others are seeing the same problem ! Or is it just something to do with the PC I'm using ? Has anyone found a solution other than just waiting for the blockchain to eventually untangle itself and return to normal ?
If it's not just me, does it mean that PeakD and Ecency are going to become two mutually exclusive communities, and we'll have to accept that users of the other front end won't see our images ? It feels like it'll become a kind of unplanned fork at a community level even though we're all still using the Hive blockchain.
