Good day everyone, before I start to draw faces or figures, I would like to further my last post by showing steps to draw and shade objects with regular shapes.
Examples of regular shapes are circle, square, triangle, rectangle and many more……
Most of the objects we see today consists to this shapes. Some might be basic while some might comprise more than one basic shape.
I have a jug, a mug cup and a book in front of me. I started with a rough sketch, instead of drawing refined lines to avoid obvious mistakes.
At this stage, mistakes are permitted to be made as long as the lines are faint and not obvious.
After getting the shapes you wish to get, then you can refine your lines, you may also decide not to refine it with very think lines so that while shading everything can blend in well.
So I decided to start shading with the cup, taking note of where the main source of light is coming from. I represented the source of light with the arrows pointing tab the object(not necessary) but you might want to put it there so that you don’t forget while shading.
While shading objects like this, you might want to take your time to sturdy where light shines on and where shadows are casted on. Getting this accurately will help bring the object you’re shading to life.
It’s better to take the objects one after the other while shading, I picked up the cup first, casted the shadows on the book , then continue with the book before shading the jug.
Getting to the jug, it has more confusion shapes which means, more confusing shadows. But when you sturdy the shape, you should definitely get past it.
I hope you enjoyed the post?
You can only learn by picking up a pen, or a pencil and try to draw something. Don’t say you can’t do it, nobody came with the talent to draw, we all picked it up at some point.
Draw something today and do not forget to share it with us 😊. Thank you.
