Hello dear Warhammer players,
I am a Dark Angels army owner myself and I like to paint very much. The other day my brother arrived and told me how the PC game "Warhammer Galdius" got him hooked. He also told me that he has a buddy who recently got into Spacemarines and played a few battles with him. He thought it was very good.
But what put him off were the following things which, in my opinion, were completely legitimate
1) The models are too expensive
2) Zero painting skills
3) Moving gray miniatures over the battlefield is just dissatisfying despite imagination
He didn't say anything about the rulebook, apparently they were just having fun or understood it right off the bat.
Personally, I think it's a shame, because there are many who think so but the share price of GW ( Games Workshop ) and the willingness to pay this price is quite high.
Well but that's another topic on which I might want to go deeper. In this article I would like to document a small history about a possible new army and players in the Warhammer universe.
My brother will get a small Warhammer army for his birthday in October.
Of course, the reason also has something self-serving, I would then always have an opponent I know and can practice ;)
Since I know that he has played in the Pc game the Astartes Militarum until vomit and hates all other factions to death. The consideration is close that I will give him an Astartes Militarum army.
So I have until October just under 2 months to assemble and paint this army (the criticism I can understand). I hope that he will then possibly be hooked and not only Pc games plays.
Currently I am looking for a comfortable price for the "Astartes Militarum : Combat Patrol " and costs here to the 100 to 125 euros.
Occasionally I also look on Ebay to buy cheap figures and was even found ( Of course I'm also looking for miniatures to practice my painting skills to improve )
On Ebay I found a Heavy Weapons Squad and bought it for a total of 15 Euro including shipping. Which is a small disadvantage, because this unit is not complete, instead of 3 units for 50 pts total there are only 2 units.
But think that this problem is easy to solve.
These are already painted and I think that's good, maybe I manage to upgrade these a bit.
Will then report back when I have acquired colors and the Combat Patrol and document it.
Have recently watched a lot of Youtube videos about painting and am looking forward to learn some tricks
