Ghana like most African states are among countries where there's prevalence of child marriage. Even though Ghana is making efforts to curb this menace, this efforts are still not enough to root out this crime as most communities practice it.As part of our youth activism efforts in combating this canker, community sensitization and advocacy through drama has been adopted as a vehicle through which messages would be disseminated.
The idea of the the sensitization is to endeavor to end early child marriage by providing information through drama. It seeks to motivate and empower girls to resist early marriage while encouraging community members to shun such behavior through theater for change. Teenagers are currently rehearsing their roles assign to them and it is out hope that we can use drama as a tool to promote social discourse on child marriage.

By this strategy, we hope the performance would change the perception about child marriage while empowering girls or child brides to resist and report t hose that indulge in this crime. By this, the overall communal attitude towards adolescents would be for good. This adoption would help the community to see life from the view of child brides in other to empathize with them and understand why the practice should be shunned.
On Tuesday 11th January, 2022 we would be at Kpana community to use drama to tell the untold stories of child brides and how the prance needs to be stopped. Thankfully, the community elders have given us the green light to go ahead with this. Thus it is my hope that I'll see you there fellow Steemains.
