Not knowing what’s going to happen is what makes living exciting and interesting.
Holding unto the past
Yes, things happened the way they did, but you can’t change it if you’re holding on to it. Why let it affect how you live today? Yes, it may have made you bitter, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay there. You can move on and learn from it. If you let the past control your present, you will never grow.
Gossiping about others
There are plenty of better ways to spend your time than speaking ill about others. You will not improve your life in any way by gossiping. Gossiping about others is just a waste of your time. When you gossip about others, you are telling them what they already know. That’s not going to help anyone.
Talking negatively about yourself
If someone is criticizing you, it doesn’t matter if they are right or wrong. What does matter, is that you are criticizing yourself. This is a self-defeating behavior. You are the only one who can decide what your worth is. When someone is negative towards you, it is them who is criticizing themselves rather than you.
Trying to please everyone else
If someone is pressuring you to do something, let them know directly that you do not want to participate. Polite refusal will not offend anyone and you will not have to try to please someone else. This will only cause you to lose respect for yourself. You don’t have to spend your time trying to make other people happy. Do what you want to do and make other people happy by being you.
