This post is my entry for this week's challenge in the #POBphotochallenge.
They say technology makes our life more comfortable and we should be able to do much more in less time since we have technology available to us.
And yes, indeed we have more comfort and things can also get done at lightning speed compared to what it was not so long ago.
Today we live in a world where cars can even drive themselves as everything gets automated.
It's fancy. It's flashy. It's fast. But often, it also contributes to our higher stress levels. The faster we can do things, we don't use the extra time to get rest or to relax... No. the faster we can do things, the more we want to do in less time. They call it "productivity".
Last December, I did a couple of posts about a "fun" steam train that is still operational in our area. The popularity of this train speaks for itself. Gone is the nostalgia of that era.
Today it is fun and an experience to be able to travel on (or even just to see) one of these machines...the technology of years gone by.
In years gone by it was considered hard work to operate one of these steam locomotives. Today, it is a passion for some, while providing fun for others.
I took this photo at the Kloof Railway station, while they were preparing to leave for their journey through the Valley of Thousand Hills in Durban, South Africa, taking some excited holidaymakers and locals alike, on an exciting adventure ride from Kloof to Inchanga and back.
