Healthy competition to make space suits
On October 15, 2019, an event took place at NASA headquarters in Washington, it was the presentation of two suit prototypes, the EMU, an acronym for Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit, and, in orange, the survival system suit for the crew of the Orion ship.
“the EMU suit improves on the suits previously used on the moon during the Apollo era and also improves on those currently used for spacewalks outside the International Space Station and will be worn by the first woman and the next man while exploring the moon as part of the space agency's artemis program "that was what NASA declared in 2019 and it seemed that at least on the subject of space suits everything was resolved and that they would be ready for the great return trip of humans to the moon projected in 2024.

But as the months went by something happened and in August 2021 NASA announced that it would not have the suits ready in time to go to the Moon and this also meant delaying the entire artemis program, given this problem and as if they had turned on the signal “ batman” Elon Musk tweeted saying that SpaceX could make the suits and it is certainly possible that they could make them, because after all they had already designed piloting suits for their spacecraft.

A pilot suit is used to keep astronauts alive inside the ship while they carry out risky maneuvers, but a suit to go into space or walk on the moon is something much more complicated and requires much more sophisticated equipment, with this situation the launch I had a problem and a very big one, but finally it seems that it has been solved.

The space agency announced on June 1 that it had chosen the companies Axiom Space and Collins Aerospace to compete against each other for a contract of 3.3 billion euros in order to create the new spacesuits with which humans walk on the moon.

We wish the two companies luck, but I have a certain preference for Axiom Space since Miguel López-Alegría, the former NASA astronaut and the first Hispanic to travel to space, participated in its creation, currently López-Alegría is the chief astronaut of the company and in April he organized the first private mission to the international space station as you can see NASA's intention is to return to the moon.
