First, I would personally like to thank and congratulate on his return to the helm at POB-WOTW. Your leadership for the prior two weeks was sorely missed. I was truly thrilled to wake this morning and view your post for this week's Word. With the chaos of the past two weeks behind us, let's make this the best damn contest on POB. It is truly a pleasure to participate in a contest where the rules and directions are clearly conveyed.
I was so damn happy to see this, I put my other work aside, and sat down and wrote my submission for this week. I truly enjoy the challenge of writing a piece on a topic not of my choice - it's just freaking fun! Parenthetically, I missed this weekly diversion so much my submission this week in actuality is a free write - no research (unless you consider looking for photos research).
By this, however, I do not in any way wish to diminish the efforts of in the absence of
. You were thrust into an undaunting task and under the circumstances I know you did the best you could. So I thank you for your efforts as well.
All too often, we post about our gripes and bitches, especially when we 'get our knickers in a knot'. But at times it is just necessary to brush away the crap and return to life as normal. I am truly pleased that this was the case here with the POB-WOTW.
As well, much too often, we all fail to pause and express our collective thanks to those deserving. That is the purpose of this short post - to thank both of you gentlemen named for all your hard work and hours donated to make the WOTW work.
Enough said.
Well...P.S. I do this for fun, not the prizes, so I do not personally care if some subjectivity creeps into the grading process. My fear however is that others may enter solely for the prizes and expect totally objective grading standards. Just say'in.
