I haven't done a random life update in a while. Lately I've been turning some of the small events, happenings and situations of life into their own post, like the books that I've been reading, as an example. Its been in an effort to post more on Hive. Somethings are still just too small and mundane to make a proper post out of them, and so they are all getting lumped in together in this simple life update.
So let's take a look at the little things that I've experienced lately, starting with the weather. Whippee!!
The weather is always crazy in Canada, especially around this time of year, late winter/early spring time. After a lot of snow and cold weather, we had almost a full week of near summer temperatures. The temperature climbed to 22°C with lots of sunny days. We even had early blooming flowers coming out in droves in our back yard.
After a few days of that the weather shifted again and dropped rapidly back down to -8°C and lower. One day was -18°C with the windchill. With the cold temperatures came more snow as well. Its been an absolutely crazy temperature swing.
I've been sick for the past two weeks and I think the severe change might have something to do with it?? Okay, moving on from the weather now.
Valentines day came and went last month. I bought my wife some roses. They looked quite nice and they actually lasted for quite a while for cut flowers. I was surprised.
They looked pretty neat when they started to dry out as well. I wish I took a photo. They were a dark dark redish black color. Very Goth looking.
I'm still learning Dutch on Duolingo. I'm on day like 170+ or so now. I still cant speak or understand the language very well but I'm mainly doing it for fun without any real goals or expectations, so its all good.
Anyways, here are a few of the funny or absurd phrases that it teaches me. I really dont know why its teaching me this nonsense, but what-ev, I get a laugh when they come up.
Its funny and give me something to talk about on Hive as well. I just don't know of any situation where I would say any of these phrases to someone.
Here's just a random photo of my dog sleeping in my robe on a cold day. He snug.
This is kind of interesting. My cousin bought a 3D printer recently.
He uses it to make a lot of little toys and fidget toy thingys for his kids and small house stuff like door stops and what not. He wanted to show us how it works so he made a Harry Potter wand holder.
It was pretty neat watching it do its thing. The arm moves one way and the bottom table top moves the other.
Its not something that would be useful for me to own but I can see the potential of it. Its a cool piece of technology to say the least.
