When I was a kid, my mom cooked with firewood. I liked to search for firewood under a dried tree. I brought the wood home and gave it to my mom. This evening, I asked my kids to try cooking with firewood.
My kids were enjoying themselves by the fire. They have never had experience of doing these activities. I told my kids that their grandmothers always cooked with firewood in the past.
Today, we cooked using a gas stove. It is much easier and cleaner. Why did I ask my kids to try cooking with firewood?
I told a story when I was a kid. I helped my mom cook in the kitchen with firewood. Then, my kids begged me to try cooking with firewood. Finally, I taught them how to make a brick stove. I taught them how to make a fire for the first time. The first time, we needed some materials that were easily burnt. I used dried leaves. I put the wood in the pile of dried leaves and burned the leaves.
After the dried wood was burnt , I started to put a pan on it. My kids understand how to make a fire now. It started with materials that were easy to burn. I think kids should have experience of how people lived before there was new equipment like stoves and electric equipment.
This knowledge will teach them how to survive without modern equipment.
