If we talk about money, then everyone likes money. Money is a medium of exchange or legal tender in an economic activity. And living in today's world we all need money, without money our life will not be meaningful in the eyes of others. Vice versa, if we have a lot of money, then we will be respected and will have many friends. But my purpose for making this post is not for that, but I wrote this post for the topic of the definition of money.

Is money the source of crime? If, I think it depends on who owns the money. If the owner of the money is good, then he will not abuse his money. If the owner of the money is evil, then he will misuse his money for evil things. And yeah! Before we say that money is the source of evil, then we must also know the definition of money. Because money is neutral in nature, and we must know that money is a means of payment. I once read a book about means of payment in ancient times before the existence of means of payment with money.
As I quoted in a book, in ancient times before the existence of money, we traded by barter. The barter is if for example we want to buy a goat, then we have to barter with 15 chickens for example. Yeah, that's because in the old days there was no currency. But because of the times, humans have created a standard exchange rate that can be used for anything, and it can be used throughout the world.

What do I mean that money is neutral? Nah! An example is a knife, do you know the function of a knife? If I think, a knife is a tool for cutting. But there are people using knives to kill other people. Is the knife wrong? Not if I think, because the knife is just a neutral tool. The function of the knife is only to cut, but if the knife is to kill other people, then the knife is misused. So it depends on who is the person using the knife.

I once read the story of the generous Bill Gates. He used the money to build an orphanage, help the poor, even Bill Gates also founded a foundation. He uses his money to help people, because Bill Gates is basically a good person. But if the money is in the hands of people whose are basically already bad, then the money can become something dangerous. They could get hitmen to kill other people. They will buy power to torture others.
So money is a very neutral trait. If I think, money is not the source of evil. But it depends on whose hands the money is in. And once again the fault is not the money, but the fault is the person. :)
