Socrates Last Words

I am the gadfly who awakens the state.
For the untrained ear all I do is buzz and rattle nonsense into the sleeping soul. But the one who listens will know the sound of my voice is medicine to awaken a consciousness to it's fully charged state.
It's not my song that I am on trial here for but my bite. Surely young men can think for themselves and chose what is right. Yet who could blame me for being the bloodthirsty vermin I am today. Is it against the law to prey?
This drawing was inspired by a challenge to draw a picture for National Drawing Day on May 16th. I didn't even know there was such a day until posted about it. I've got to learn to stay away from that dude.
I tend to agree that romance is the beginning of history.
